2 – day Course – The Aligner orthodontics with special focus on occlusion and jaw joint function
Live
Dr. Werner Schupp, Prof. Vincenzo D'Antò
This two-day course teaches you to overcome standard aligner limitations. You will learn to integrate dynamic jaw movements to manage occlusion and joint health (TMD), and master hybrid techniques using auxiliaries and skeletal anchorage (TADs) to predictably treat complex malocclusions.
DAY 1
Overcome the limits of static aligner planning by integrating real mandibular movement data into virtual simulations. You will learn to establish a physiological jaw joint position from the start, achieving a perfect, stable occlusion in both static and dynamic states without extra correction phases.
Key Topics:
- Splint therapy and managing patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD).
- Accurately transferring functional treatment data from splints to clear aligners.
- Scanning techniques and treatment planning in Centric Relation (CR) and Centric Occlusion (CO).
- Strategies for managing and treating various types of disocclusions.
- Integrating traditional and digital facebows and articulators into orthodontic treatment.
DAY 2
Transcend standard clear aligner limitations and master the management of complex malocclusions. This session provides a roadmap for hybrid treatments, teaching you how to strategically combine aligners with advanced auxiliaries and skeletal anchorage (TADs) to achieve predictable, stable finishes in high-difficulty cases.
Key Topics:
- A 4-step method for biomechanically sound clear aligner treatment planning.
- The role and biomechanics of elastics and orthodontic auxiliaries.
- Treatment protocols for transverse, vertical, and sagittal corrections.
- Clinical applications of skeletal anchorage, including interradicular/extra-alveolar miniscrews and palatal anchorage.
- Case failures and troubleshooting strategies.
