The importance of collaboration between the orthodontist and the prosthetic dentist: aesthetic and functional success
Dr. Greta Kirlienė, Dr. Robertas Kirlys
Effective interdisciplinary planning and communication between doctors optimises outcomes and increases the effectiveness of treatment. But how can an efficient collaboration between an orthodontist and a prosthodontist be achieved? How can complex cases be successfully completed? What mistakes can occur during treatment and how can they be avoided?
During this course participants will learn about:
- The course of treatment for moderate and severe cases, the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration between colleagues, and treatment planning at the very beginning of treatment.
- Mistakes that can be made during treatment. We will look at the importance of the preparatory treatment, the guided implantation, the shapes and materials of temporary crowns on implants, and analyse the ways in which these errors can be corrected.
- Prosthetics after orthodontic treatment, the completion of clinical cases and the nuances that may occur. We will emphasise the differences that need to be known in the prosthetic treatment of patients who have been treated with aligners, brackets or hybrid orthodontic treatment.
